What is XML sitemap

To know XML site map first we need to know about sitemap. Sitemap works as a road map of any website. Using the road map we can easily find our destination just like that using the sitemap of any website we can esily find their web page's imformation. Just like that an XML sitemap works for search engines spider.
XML sitemaps are created particularly for the search engines spider. All of the most well-known search engines including Google, Yahoo and Bing operate XML sitemaps as part of their practice for indexing the web pages of a website. A good XML sitemap will inform the search engine what pages are in your website, how frequently those pages are updated, and when they were previous modified. This way, the search engines know which web pages to revisit more frequently, and are possible to do a superior job of indexing them.
Following codes are example of what a simple XML Sitemap might look like:

How to achieve Google page rank


 The first thing to do to get rated by Google is to submit your website to Google. If you never your site to Google how will Google know that you ever existed. So the first thing is to submit your website to Google.
The second thing is what you cannot control much. It is the competition of the keywords around which your website is designed. For example the keyword "Earn money online" Is a very competitive keyword and there are tens of thousands of websites about it. So if the main keyword of your website is the same then you have to be patient. With time the Google will start respecting you and then it will increase your ranking. I will give you my personal example. My website www.mananatomy.com had a few pages and I hardly got 5 visits per day. Because of my exams and other business I could not add content to my website for about 4 months. So the content and pages of my website remain constant but after all the time has passed and the content and pages constant, today I get more than 150 visits a day. The reason is that as my website is getting older and older Google is increasing its respect and guiding more and more traffic to my website. So there are a number of factors you need to keep in mind to make your website rank high in Google search rank. And you also need to know that time is an important factor and those who say that time does not matter may have not much experience with Google.
The best way to gain a Google page rank is by having your site linked to high page rank sites. It doesn’t matter how many pages your site has indexed in Google , this has no effect on goggles judgment for giving you a page rank.
It doesn’t matter if you have 2000+ links from other sites, if these are low quality sites then you will not receive a page rank. Its all about quality not quantity, have just 10 sites that have a page rank off 5 linking to your site, then your site would have a page rank as well, because these sites have worth in goggles eyes.
My suggestion is to find high page rank sites and add your link to these, anchor link would be best. It is also best to mix the linking pattern up, i.e. forum links, social bookmarks, articles directories.

Dot com vs Dot net


 In the past years Domain Name Selection also played an important role in search engine optimization. But now Google is not considering the domain names in optimizing them in the SERP (Search Engine Page Results).
To the general users there is no difference between .com and .net
.COM is used for commercial and personal sites.
.NET is usually recommended for companies involved in Internet infrastructure.
However, there are some similarities in hosting the three domain names:
One can use only letters, numbers, or hyphen ("-") as characters for the site
The domain name cannot begin or end with a hyphen
Two hyphens cannot be used together
The domain name must have less than 63* characters, not including .COM, .NET and .ORG
.com is the standard #1 domain. If you're using the domain for an established business, it may be worth the expense.
.net and .org are fine too. Google will give you just as much sauce for any top-level domain. But some people may not remember these domains as easily.
Honestly, if you are starting from scratch, your link building strategy and content creation is going to make a much bigger difference in SEO than your domain name.
Just think of it as if you were building a brand (because actually, you are...). Nobody drinks Coke because they like the logo. They drink it because it's everywhere.
People looking for the content you provide will visit your site regardless of domain. A good one helps a bit, but I don't think Steve Pavlina became successful on the strength of his domain - it's content and optimization that will have the biggest impact on your success.

How Search Engines Work

Search engines consist of five discrete software components:


Spider : A search engine program that downloads webpages.
Spider, also called a robot or a crawler, is actually the only program that will follow, or "crawls", links to the Internet, grabbing the content of sites, and adding it to the search engine indexes.

The spiders can follow links from one page to another and from one place to another. This is the main reason why links to your site (inbound links) is so important. Links to your site from other Web sites provide search engines more "food" to chew. The more times they find links to your site, the more times they'll stop and visit. Google is based in particular on its spiders index their lists to create enormous.

Spiders find Web pages by following links to other Web pages, but you can also send web pages directly from a search engine or directory, and ask them to visit the spider. In fact, it's a good idea to send manually edited directories like Yahoo, and usually spiders from other search engines (like Google) to find and add it to the database. It may be useful to submit your URL directly to the different search engines, as well, but Spider-based engines usually pick up on the site, regardless of whether you have sent the search engine.

Crawler : A wandering spider that automatically follows links found on pages.
Component of search engine that gather listings by automatically “crawling” the web. A search engine’s crawler (also called a spider or robot), follows links to web pages. It makes copies of the web pages found and stores these in the search engine’s index.

Indexer : A blender like program that dissects webpages that are downloaded by spiders.
An indexer rips apart a page into it's various components and analyze them. Entities such as, titles, headings, links, text, constructs, bold, italic, and other style portions of a page are ripped apart and analyzed.

The database : A warehouse of the pages downloaded and processed.
The database is the storage medium for all the data a search engine downloads and analyzes. This can require huge amounts of storage space.

Search engine results engine : Digs search results out of the database.

Ah, the heart of the beast. It is the results engine's job to decide what pages matches a users search. This is the portion of a search engine you interact with when you perform a search. It is also the one part we are concerned with here.

When a user types in a keyword and does a search, the search engine decides what to match for results under varying criteria. The means with which it decides is called an algorithm. You may hear search engine optimization (SEO) professionals discuss "algos" from time to time and this is what they are referring too.

Google Now For iOS


The search giant Google who introduced Google Now app for Android devices last year, unveiled on Monday that its intelligent assistant app Google Now is available for iOS platform. According to Google, the features are exactly the same as Google Now on Android, except the upward swiping to launch the application which cannot be integrated to iOS running devices. The iPhone device users from Google Now can retrieve all the data from all the Google’s services like the Gmail account, Google calendar account, Google Maps, and everything which is connected to the Google account.
When Google Now was released for the first time for Android devices, it revealed a set of virtual cards based on your search results and your interest right from the weather report  to your favorite movie. Cards also responds to voice commands.

Google Now uses location when you are signed in to Google account which gives you relevant real-time information, even when you don’t ask for it. As per Google, when you search for one city often, it uses statistical data which shows that you like the city and displays you the score on a card within the app. Google Now can be used for flights alerts by notifying users as soon as flights are delayed, without having to sign up for any account. You can also find coffee shops and restaurants near your current location.
