How to turn Do Not Track on in Firefox



Click “Tools” from the main toolbar in your browser.

Now, click “Options.”

Open the Privacy tab.
Under the first header, Tracking, ensure “Tell websites I do not want to be tracked” is clicked.
You’ve now turned on Do Not Track in Firefox.
Restart your browser, and you’re set.

How to turn Do Not Track on in Chrome

Click “Settings” from the dropdown menu.

Now, click “Show advanced settings….”

Ensure “Send a ‘Do Not Track’ request with your browsing traffic” is checked.

A pop-up box will appear to let you know what Do Not Track actually does in Chrome. Click “OK” to close it.

You’ve now turned on Do Not Track in Chrome.
Restart Chrome, and you’re good to go.

How to turn Do Not Track on in Internet Explorer

Open Microsoft Internet Explorer.

Click the “Gear Icon,” then “Safety.”

Highlight Your Personalized List, click “Enable.”
Restart IE, and you’ve turned on Do Not Track.

Does turning on Do Not Track truly work?

Turning on Do Not Track in web browsers is one way to combat tracking online. By figuring out how is tracking you, how they’re doing it and why they’re doing it, you can combat it. The first step is using Do Not Track in your browser, from there, you can further prevent web sites from tracking you by protecting your data, searching for spyware and being vigilant on where you go online.
